The mission of the Division of Disease Control and Prevention is to rapidly detect and investigate communicable diseases and environmental health hazards, provide prevention-focused education, and to institute control measures to reduce and prevent the impact of the disease. The Division supports the Department’s overall mission of evidence-based decision making in public health through skillful epidemiology and laboratory science principles.
